A New Beginning...

Welcome to my blog!  This is a new thing for me, so please bare with me!  I have decided to start a blog due to the new job that I have decided to take.  For a quick overview...I am an Athletic Trainer originally from Hartsville, South Carolina.  I am a graduate from the University of South Carolina where I obtained a BS in Physical Education.  Upon graduation, I worked at and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I received my Masters of Arts in Education in Health Education.

After graduation, I worked for a year at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.  After that I worked for a hospital system and a high school in Florence, South Carolina.  After a year in Florence, I was offered a job in my hometown of Hartsville working with Coker College and Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

After working at both Coker College and CPRMC for 5 years, an opportunity arose in which I could not pass up.  This new opportunity is one of the reasons for this blog.  Beginning in August (maybe earlier) I will be working for a new company; The Institute for Western Surgery.  This new job takes me far from Hartsville, South Carolina all the way to China.  Beijing, China in fact!

While working in Beijing, I plan to keep this blog updated with what I've been doing and any ongoing ventures.  For those of you who know me, know that travel is my passion (hence the "Life of a Traveling ATC" title).  This new job allows me to live out a dream of mine to live abroad as well as travel to other countries while working.  I hope that you find my adventures interesting and I ask that you leave feedback for me when you have some.  Thanks for your time, and please come back for updates!
